Music has been my passion for as long as I can remember. Growing up in Indiana and Michigan, my parents offered me many wonderful opportunities to study and perform, including private lessons, 3 years at the Interlochen Music Camp, and 2 Musical Youth International tours. I was privileged to perform in Canada, Germany, the Netherlands, Denmark, Yugoslavia, Greece, Tunisia, as well as Boston, Chicago, Detroit, Philadelphia, Washington D.C., and New York.

Working with amazing musicians at the University of Michigan like John Mohler, David Shifrin, Donald Sinta, Hugh Cooper, Arno Marriotti, and H. Robert Reynolds helped to shape my musical values and launch me on my path.

I am grateful to have been successful at combining music education with the life of a performing musician. Teaching instrumental music from beginning levels through high school is a huge pleasure and constant delight. Littleton Public Schools, Colorado Honor Band, and my private Woodwind studio offer great opportunities to teach. Wind ensemble, orchestra, and chamber music keep my performance skills sharp. Performing with the Colorado Wind Ensemble, Woodwinds 3 and the Denver Municipal Band are my current endeavors.

Heather holds a Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music, Wind Instruments, from the University of Michigan.
